It's hate crime today to criticize another's faith. However, there's no law against comparison between doctrines as each faith renders itself on the basis of it's doctrine. As far as am concerned, personal faith is only personal when not placed in public domain.
Hence all doctrinal statements published on social media, in literature and preached openly are presented to the entire world under freedom of expression and religious freedom: As such, they must therefore be examined by every individual who wishes to do so if the purpose of that examination is not to critic but to contrast.
My Truth is that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
The bible: I believe the King James Version of 1611.
Jesus Christ asked His deciples a very important question:
Matthew 16:13 KJV ... "Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?"
I believe we need to see what "men" say who Jesus is according to their fundamental doctrine.
Catechism of the Catholic Church, par. 552 - (Simon Peter holds the first place in the college of the Twelve; Jesus entrusted a unique mission to him. Through a revelation from the Father, Peter had confessed: "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Our Lord then declared to him: "You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it." Christ, the "living Stone," thus assures his Church, built on Peter, of victory over the powers of death. Because of the faith he confessed Peter will remain the unshakable rock of the Church. His mission will be to keep this faith from every lapse and to strengthen his brothers in it.")
Peter is not the rock on which the church is built or the unshakeable rock on which the church is built. Jesus Christ Himself tells us He is the Rock:
Luke 6:47-48 KJV
Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
Jesus makes it clear that obeying His words is the unshakeable foundation. John 6:63 KJV: ..... 'the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.'
John 1:1 KJV
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Peter confessed by revelation what every true deciple of Jesus Christ confesses today. 1 John 5:5 KJV - Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
We cannot make Peter the Rock because Peter himself acknowledged Jesus Christ to be the Rock: "thou art".
Men argue that when Jesus said ..... "thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church" (Matthew 16:18 KJV), that Jesus made Peter the Rock. Not so because scripture says;
1 Corinthians 3:11 KJV
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
If Peter himself believed that Jesus is the Rock how then could he be the Rock? What Jesus was saying to Peter was that the true identity of Jesus Christ from the premise of the question he posed to them once clearly understood, is the Rock or foundation of the true victorious church. Peter understood by revelation the true identity of Christ Jesus and confessed it. A victorious church cannot be built on Peter became Peter did not rise from the dead.
2 Timothy 2:8 KJV
Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:
Jesus Christ Himself is the fulfilment of law and the prophets. Before Peter was ever born, Christ Jesus was Israel's Rock:
1 Corinthians 10:4 KJV
And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
This is the gospel of "my truth" that Jesus Christ is the Rock not Peter.
